Bishop Frank G. Tunstall
Superintendent
Dr. Frank G. Tunstall served twenty-three years as the pioneer pastor of Northwest Christian Center in Oklahoma City, leading the church through five building programs. He has also worked as editor in chief of publications and editor of the Advocate, the denominational official journal (now called Experience.) He taught Bible/Theology at Southwestern Christian University for many years, and served six years as Southwestern’s president.
In recent years he served eight years on the IPHC World Missions Board and 12 years as missions director of the Heartland Conference. He wrote the book, A History of World Missions, the First 100 Years, published in 2005. He also was elected to the General Executive Board of the denomination at the General Conference in Oklahoma City in 2005 and currently serves as a member of the IPHC board of control, the Council of Bishops. He is also a member of the Board of Regents of Southwestern Christian University and a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of regents. His newest book, Our Awesome Lord, is a Christology written to show what Jesus achieved and how He did it. Our Awesome Lord was released in September 2008 by Creation House. The Spanish version became available in May 2009.
Dr. Tunstall considers his chief credential for ministry is the altar he built in the woods while growing up as a teenager. That altar was his regular place of prayer during those years. “I know I met God as a boy in the woods,” he says. His lifelong love for the Word of God was also kindled in those years.
He holds earned degrees from Emmanuel College (A.A.), Methodist College (B. A.), Oral Roberts University (M. Div.), the University of Tulsa (M.A.), and Phillips University (D. Min.). He has also done study at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Tunstall and his wife, Lu, have three children, Dena, Franklin, Jr. and Derek (deceased), and five grandchildren. They have been married 45 years.

Dr. Aldon Preston
Assistant Superintendent/ Men's Ministries Director
Dr. Aldon Preston serves as Assistant Superintendent in the Heartland Conference. He is also the director of Men's Ministry. Aldon pastors Starlight Ministries in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He previously served the conference as Church Education Ministries Director and Missions Director.
Aldon has one son, Pierce.

Pastor John Youell, Sr.
Secretary/ Treasurer
John Youell, Sr. has been Senior Pastor of The Crown Center in Oklahoma City for 21 years and has served on the Heartland Conference Board for 20 years as Secretary / Treasurer. He is a graduate of Southwestern Christian University Graduate School, Covington Theological Seminary in Dothan, Alabama and Eastern New Mexico University.

Dwight Burchett
Board Member/ Evangelism Director
J. Dwight Burchett is a member of the conference board and serves as the conference Evangelism Director. He is the founding pastor of Eastpointe Church (formerly Life Christian Center) where his son Shon now pastors. He is the interim president of Southwestern Christian University.
Dwight led Life Christian to a phenomenal growth of 1500 members. He also founded Life Christian Academy.
Dwight and his wife Mary have four children and eight grandchildren.

Richard Goad
Board Member
Richard Goad pastors River of Life Church in NW Oklahoma City with his wife, Linda. They have been at River of Life since 2002, following ten years of service as the Heartland Conference Discipleship Ministries Director. Pastor Goad has been greatly involved in Missions, having led more than twenty mission trips. He also served the IPHC as National Talent Director for nine years. He and Linda have three children and five grandchildren.

Bud Jones
Board Member
Bud Jones has been the senior pastor of the Apache First church for 25 years. He holds a degree in Biblical Studies from Southwestern Christian University and a degree in Business Administration from Cameron University, Lawton, Oklahoma. He and his wife Shari have three children. Their daughter Jamie Scammahorn, is a licensed minister with the Heartland Conference. Les, their oldest son, pastors New Song Family church in Decatur, Alabama and youngest son Brett works for Farmer’s Insurance in Oklahoma City, OK.

Stuart Sherrill
Board Member/ Discipleship Ministries Director
Stuart Sherrill serves as a conference board member and Director of Discipleship Ministries (formerly Church Education Ministries). He holds a B.A. from Jimmy Swaggart Bible College and a M.Min. from Southwestern Christian University.
Stuart and his wife Sheri have four children — Summer, Zack, Abby and Mark. Together they have planted two churches, the second one a PH church in Wichita Falls Texas — Lighthouse Prayer Center (now Fallspointe Church). In addition to their job assignments, Stuart and Sheri enjoy ministering to marriages.
