Continuing Education Units for Conference Events

Based on the in-service training program already available in the Heartland Conference, it will be fairly easy for our ministers to earn 24 CEUs per year by simply participating in Heartland Conference events.

1. Summer Summit daytime training sessions – typically 12 CEUs
2. Annual Conference – 3 CEUs
3. District Iron Sharpens Iron training twice per year 3 hours each session – 6 CEUs
4. School of Ministry classes (8 per year)
   • approximately 8 CEUs per class if auditing
   • more if reading textbook(s) and completing class for credit
5. Fall Camp-meeting daytime sessions 2 mornings with 2 hours – 4 CEUs
6. The annual Discipleship Ministries day of training – 4 CEUs
7. Mentoring sessions – 8 CEUs
8. Training events of conference departments such as Men's Ministries and Women's Ministries, etc.
9. Reading books on the approved reading list from the conference and Global Ministry Center – up to 12.

The general rule of thumb is 1 CEU per hour of approved training. It is easily possible to meet the requirements for continuing education with existing events in the Heartland!
